(It's no) drama
Samara is a Board Director, Program Manager, and Artistic Director of (it’s no) drama. Founded by Emily Ardley in 2015, (it’s no) drama is an arts company delivering multi-layered creative projects for individuals with and without disabilities living in Gippsland.
The (it's no) drama ensemble explores ideas and stories that express diverse ways of seeing and being in the world. (it’s no) drama is committed to artistic excellence in practice and performance. In her role as director, Samara forges strong connections with professional artists locally and abroad to ensure its performance work and community outreach workshops are situated firmly in the contemporary, professional theatre and performance realm.
The (it's no) drama creative team has formed strong collaborative teams in areas of dance and choreography, music and sound design, set, costume, multimedia, and documentary filmmaking. For all of the professional creatives involved, this has breathed new life into their artistic worlds.
(it's no) drama works include Real Not Real (2019), Party of One (2020), Stasis (2021), Wild Woods (2023), No Sudden Moves (2023), Street Urchins (2023) and free community outreach program Everyone Can Dance (2023).
